At Copperworx we believe in doing things the right way.

When i am going over details with a prospective client without fail they will ask me "Do you solder your gutter joints?"

That question is best answered with another question: "Why would you use a 2 year caulk on a 60-80 year gutter?"

If your contractor used caulk you will be up on a ladder (his warranty has expired) re caulking every couple of years, I have seen this many times.

As the temperature rises and falls outside the temperature of you gutter heats and cool as well, and when the gutter heats it expands, when it cools it shrinks, this see saw action will break a caulk joint in a fairly short time.

Soldering has been done for well over 100 years and has withstood the test of time.

Insist on copper gutter joints being soldered EVERY time.

Take a look at this video, the gutter looks good when finished, but the homeowner’s initial smile will turn upside down shortly.
